Music on the
Half Shell
Music on the Half Shell is a summer concert series that takes place each year in Roseburg, Oregon. The event is a big part of my hometown’s heritage, so I was thrilled when my work was chosen.
Project Scope
Music on the Half Shell draws in large number of locals and visitors from the surrounding areas. This year, the client wanted a fresh approach that differed from the previous year’s geometric-heavy design. My approach was to offer the first-ever illustrated poster since the series’ inception.
Deliverables included the main lineup poster, backstage passes, various merch, and gifts for this year’s sponsors.

Lineup Poster
On Half Shell days, community members will come to the park as early as 5am to claim their spot for that evening’s show by laying down their blanket or quilt. Seeing the park’s grassy hills stiched together in a patchwork of blankets was my inspiration for this illustration.
Sponsor Gifts
Every year, the Half Shell committee asks us to create a unique gift for their donors. So in keeping with our quilt theme, we chose picnic blankets with a sewn-on patch that I screenprinted and designed to fit.
